How to Change default value of select box shows 10 entries of jQuery Data Table

Data Table is a handy plug-in to enhance table capability. It adds many features such as search, pagination, etc. Default Data Table shows 10 Entries per page, but sometimes we have to need to increase the length, such as showing 50 data per page or 100 data per page. There are some following steps to do this:

Step 1: Create Table in HTML

<table class="table table-striped" id="example">
    <thead>
      <tr>
        <th>Firstname</th>
        <th>Lastname</th>
        <th>Email</th>
      </tr>
    </thead>
    <tbody>
      <tr>
        <td>John</td>
        <td>Doe</td>
        <td>[email protected]</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>Mary</td>
        <td>Moe</td>
        <td>[email protected]</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>July</td>
        <td>Dooley</td>
        <td>[email protected]</td>
      </tr>
    </tbody>
  </table>

Step 2:  Use CSS and js CDN link of a data table

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.datatables.net/1.10.20/css/jquery.dataTables.min.css">
Paste this css in your <head> </head> tag.

<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.3.1.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdn.datatables.net/1.10.20/js/jquery.dataTables.min.js"></script>

Paste these two links before closing </body> tag.

Step 3: Put id=” example ”  in your table tag.

<table id=”example”></table>

Step 4: paste this jquery code after jquery links:

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
    $('#example').DataTable({
 "pageLength": 100
}); } ); </script>

Complete Code:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.datatables.net/1.10.19/css/jquery.dataTables.min.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdn.datatables.net/responsive/2.2.3/css/responsive.bootstrap.css">
